Sarah Hayman
Who am I?
I have 25 years' experience as an information professional in special, educational and research libraries and information services. I was formerly the manager of the international vocational education and training research database (VOCED), at the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER). I managed the transition of this database to the web and the development of the VOCED online thesaurus, linked to the online database search. I am currently working at education.au, the company responsible for the edna service among many other education networks, tools and services. I am working as a consultant for education.au in the areas of information architecture (redeveloping category browse structures), information management policy review, and the development of thesauri and other taxonomies. I'm very interested in the area of folksonomies and particularly their relationship to controlled vocabularies and ways in which the two could possibly be integrated.
